I did a lot of research on cameras before I chose to buy this camera. This is my first security camera and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I put this camera over my front door and it picks up good detail out to about 20-30 feet, even at night. The picture is still good beyond that but there is some lose on clarity (face detail). If I installed this in the eve of a house I don't think the picture detail would be as good at that height. The setup was quite simple and took about 20 minutes. Just be sure to connect the camera to your router with a cable first. A have a D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router and the camera connected wirelessly without a hitch.
