This security camera is not the greatest, but it is better then your local store security cameras on sale for $20. I have mounted the camera in the basement so that I know who goes down the basement or comes out. With the lights off, the picture is good enough to recognize the persons face, and see where they are going. With the lights on the picture is really good, you can clearly tell who it is and what color t-shirt they are wearing or pants. The only con of this camera is the bracket, it feels and it is cheap. I did a lot of research on cameras before I chose to buy this camera. This is my first security camera and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I put this camera over my front door and it picks up good detail out to about 20-30 feet, even at night. The picture is still good beyond that but there is some lose on clarity (face detail). If I installed this in the eve of a house I don't think the picture detail would be as good at that height. The setup was quite simple and took about 20 minutes. Just be sure to connect the camera to your router with a cable first. A have a D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router and the camera connected wirelessly without a hitch. The camera came very well packaged and with an installation CD and manual. However, I did not use either. Once I had the camera plugged into my POE switch, I logged into my router and found the camera there. I then had the address to the camera. Upon logging into the camera, I changed the IP address to "static" (I did the same in my router). Also, the default password it "admin". This is not a camera for someone who is a beginner. You have to know a bit about networking. However, if you have someone do it for you, or do know a little something about networking, then this is a camera to consider. I have several Foscams, Dericams, and a generic or two. The 1280x960image quality is superb given the price. I port forwarded the camera and use an app on my phone and the image is great. So far, it has been in rain and ice (not hot weather yet) and the camera is working great. I use Blue Iris software (available from Amazon) to control all my cameras. The picture quality is excellent compared to other camera I purchased. The camera is well built, haven't tested the zoom, the night vision is very good. Was little skeptical when they said it was 1000TVL, but when compared to the 700TVL I have there is a huge difference. I purchased this product because I was looking for a relatively low cost surveillance system to keep an eye on my downstairs carport in my condo complex. The challenge was that the condo rules do note allow me to mount anything on the out side of the building. With a little creativity on the application side, this product worked out perfectly. The camera is relatively small in size which was perfect. I was able to mount it on the window sill of my upstairs bedroom and leave the window cracked open so the night video recording was not distorted. I removed a small piece of the window screen so the camera had a clear view, and the system works like a champ! Very easy to set up with the wireless application. I had the remote viewing feature via Skype working in a matter of minutes from my IPAD and iPhone. I am a single female with intermediate tech skills and this system was very easy to install. Dahua IPC-HFW4300S 3MP Eco-Savvy Weatherproof Hi Def IP Security Camera 3.6mm

So clear. Replaced my 720p cameras with 2MP and 3MP models. A giant leap forward. Too bad they don't do 30FPS at 3MP (limited to 20), but you really don't notice it much. Matter fact, if you are willing to lose 10fps for the benefit of having a million more pixels, it is well worth it. This also helps keep your bandwidth usage a little lower. Now I'm looking forward to bullet sized 5MP cameras. While setting up my 18 camera system on the EyeSurv 32 channel NVR the seller was extremely helpful answering my questions and giving me tips. I can now see 360* around my house and then some. I absolutely love having my front door camera at eye level just outside the door. Makes it very easy to ignore solicitors and identify visitors. I even used one of my older 720p cameras aiming towards the door so I can get a front and back view of someone. Great wide angle Power over Ethernet camera. Got a TP-Link PoE injector to power it, ran some cat5e cable to the front of the house. Configured to the right subnet address using the provided CD software. (could change the subnet on the fly which was nice, instead of having to hook it up to a separate network and change the addressing there). Great quality night and day camera. EasyN FS-613B-M166 Wireless Pan/Tilt IP Camera with 2-Way Audio

I've only had it a few days, and so far this camera is amazing. It was really easy to set up on the network, even the WIFI. The only trouble i had was when it asked me for the admin password, i thought it wanted me to set one.. when it really wanted me to type in the default admin password.. which is blank. (which it didn't alert a wrong password, it just wouldn't change the gateway/ip settings... so it made me read the manual) The image quality is good, and the pan/tilt is really good also... and it seems to be at least a little durable, as when I first got it, before installing it, i was playing around with my cat.. and he knocked it a few feet to the ground, and it was fine. This is a really good camera it does exactly as advertised you do need to be a little tech savvy to get the system setup and operate correctly .I did have to humble myself a little and realize my limitations of knowledge in this area and call tech support ,for help with the setup of my smartphone app . The Android app allows you to be able to log into your cam for remote viewing from anywhere there is some type of internet connection be wifi or hard line, or cellular 3G or 4G LTE service. Keep in mind though if you are using your cellular service you are using data from your cellular Serviceplan . The man I spoke with was named Marshall he was from Foscam technical support and I want to say once he remote connected to my computer it was at no time at all he reconfigured my system and had me up and running in very little time. Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I Outdoor HD 3MP IP Bullet Security Camera 4mm

There's not much to complain about with this camera. The 4mm lens offers a good viewing angle, and the picture quality would've been unbeatable just a few years ago. It's a dense little guy with a small form factor and impressively small footprint. The advanced configuration software is worth mentioning. They really baked in a decent amount of features for using this with a security/recording system. Multiple protocols and encoding, event scheduling, motion detection, sub streams, notifications, 'masked' areas, and much more make this a very flexible device to integrate into most systems easily. I had to fiddle with a few things to get it play fully with my Vera and NAS, but it was nothing a few Google searches didn't quickly solve. The bottom line is I bought three models of PoE HD outdoor cams priced under $200 each, and this one completely annihilates the other two in picture, features and size. Lorex CVC6945 Vantage Indoor/Outdoor Color Security Camera (Black)

I'm not sure whats with the lack of reviews but this camera is great. It is name brand, always good, and comes with everything you need. 60ft of CCTV cabling, 1 power adapter, camera and mount, and instructions. It is the video quality I expected at 480TVL. Mine is mounted outside a window facing my front door. Its a good 100ft and you can clearly see arriving people and the night vision reached , although barely. I am surprised because it said only up to a certain range works best. It is full metal and is very tough. You can adjust it in every direction and the top cover also slides around you you can turn the lens. The night vision LEDs are undetectable which is a great feature. - Customer Reviews
